New Farm

About the Project

This early 1900's colonial house was purchased by the client. Their decision was to address the remodelling of their new home before actually moving in. After an initial appraisal from Paradise Homes, the concept designs involved remodelling the existing structure and adding on an extension at the back to provide a new contemporary living space. The property, a sloping block down from the road level, has a shared easement driveway to access the ample backyard. The existing aspect of the property provides an urban oasis of green leafy trees-not what you might expect in New Farm.

"A traditional outdoor deck was a strong consideration, but a unique indoor/outdoor room with large sliding doors proved a more productive use of space. When the doors slide open we still have the railings and glass panels for safety, and in difference to a deck we are really happy with the result. The space is now 100% useable whatever the weather"

"Right from their original ideas through planning and building it all went very smoothly. Being able to deal with the one company that does it all made it easy for us-I would highly recommend it. They said 14-18 weeks, and we were in by 17 weeks. The level of communication, the professional attitude and workmanship was excellent."
